Gina Hollenbeck
After dealing with a non-productive cough that would not go away and losing weight, Gina Hollenbeck knew something was wrong. At 38 years old, she was at the peak of her physical health and lung cancer was the last thing on her mind. On October 27, 2015, she was diagnosed with Stage IV lung cancer even though she had no known risk factors.
Lung cancer is the #1 killer of men and women, and the LEAST funded cancers because of the misguided stigma that “lung cancer is a smoker’s disease.” Knowing this and with a will to fight, Gina started Links for Lungs Memphis, a golf tournament to raise funds to benefit the Baptist Cancer Center and ALK Positive research and advocacy.
The Courage Thru Cancer 5K was started in her honor. Learn more by visiting couragethrucancer.com.
